David D. McBride

Principal and Founder

David D. McBride brings more than four decades of experience in aerospace leadership, flight research, airworthiness, and advanced flight systems. He has held senior leadership roles across NASA and the commercial aerospace sector, advising and leading organizations responsible for some of the nation’s most complex and consequential aviation programs.

Mr. McBride previously served as Director of NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center, where he was responsible for the agency’s premier flight research activities, experimental aircraft programs, and global flight operations. His career has spanned experimental flight test, advanced systems development, certification strategy, and the leadership of large, multidisciplinary technical organizations.

Through The Emersion Group, Mr. McBride provides senior advisory support to executive teams and boards, focusing on leadership decision-making, technical governance, airworthiness strategy, and the disciplined transition of advanced technologies into safe, certifiable, and operational reality.
